Media Development Center at Birzeit University Joins the Global Forum for Media Development as a New Member

The Media Development Center at Birzeit University proudly announces its accession as a general member of the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), an achievement celebrated alongside sixteen other organizations supporting journalism and media development, which were welcomed by the Forum in February 2025. This landmark step underscores the Media Development Center's commitment to fostering a free, professional, and gender-sensitive Palestinian media landscape.

The Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), a global network dedicated to supporting journalism as a public good, presented its latest cohort of new members on March 3, 2025, highlighting their diverse contributions to media development worldwide. They expressed enthusiasm for the newest members' commitment to supporting and advancing global media development. The dynamic contributions of these institutions provide a variety of perspectives and skills, enhancing the collaborative spirit that characterizes GFMD.

For the Center, this membership represents an opportunity to amplify Palestinian voices on the international stage and collaborate with like-minded organizations, such as the الجزيرة Institute for Media (Qatar), the International Fact-Checking Network (United States), and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (United Kingdom).
