The Media Development Center at Birzeit University  wrapped up a training course on " Media Marketing " on  December21, 2013, which was attended by 13 participants  of journalists , publishers and business owners , who seek engaging the public through the use of social media .
The trainer of the course was the  adviser in digital media and social networking Professor Hilal Sobh , whose  goal of the training ,throughout  three days of intensive training  , to identify the new method in e-marketing in the media domain, which would contribute to help journalists and those interested in the field of journalism , learning how to integrate online media and e-marketing effectively.
The training focused on a range of themes, most notably enhancing the participants' ability to understand and use search engines, and understand what key words and their importance, and enhance their ability to effective recruitment of digital media in their areas of functional diversity, as well as understanding  how to appear on the Internet in a professional manner.
The Media Development Center expressed its readiness to fully implement the advanced training course to complement this preliminary training ,  upon the recommendation of the participants.
The training session concluded with the distribution of certificates on trainees.

The Media development center, on 12/12/2013  concluded specialized training in TV news reporting , led by the journalist Lana Shaheen ,  who is a correspondent for the Arab satellite Al- Mayadeen , the trainees were number of new satellite television correspondents , and media professionals interested in the development of their capabilities in this area .
The  training , which lasted for ten consecutive days over ( 60 hours of training )  varied between the theoretical concepts of television work , and production of practical television reports on topics of political and societal and cultural variety .
The  22 trainees were trained on  media terminology of  visual production , and were briefed on ways to capture the idea of the television report , and the search for the details , and determine the organizational structure to accomplish the mission .
The trainers who  were 10 women , and 12 men  were trained  on how to stand in front of the camera , deliver a capturing opening and build logical report, as well as the conclusion of the report in the form of a professional stand , and  on  how to write for the picture and  how to conduct interviews , and the types of television footage , and  they also has identified a set of guidelines for the montage .
At the conclusion of the training , the trainer screened the trainees work that they produced on the practical training , and made a series of observations on the practical components of the report along with  style and language of the reporter .

Media Development Center at Birzeit University , on Monday November 25, 2013 , celebrated the release of the hundred issue of Al- Hal , the monthly newspaper that has been published by the Centre since February 2005 .
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Department of Birzeit University and the Media Development Center and professors of media and Palestinian Journalists syndicate, and a number of journalists working in various media , and the editors at the newspaper, and media students .
The Vice President of the University for Development Affairs and Communication Dr. . Ghassan Khatib hoped for Al-Hal  more prosperity , Mrs. Nibal Thawabteh, director of Media Development Center and the chief editor of the newspaper thanked the family of the newspaper and its employees , and to the body of the institution newspaper They are: Aref Hijjawi , Bichara Issa , Nabil Khatib , Walid al-Omari
During the ceremony  a dialogue session was open  and an evaluation of the newspaper was circulated among the audience , presenting their views and ideas for the development of Al-Hal  to maintain its excellence , the event included two  sensational singing episodes by two of university talented students: Nora Abu Madi and Hinna Al Haj.

The Media Development Center at Birzeit University Concluded a training course on the art of dialogue , which was attended by 11 journalists radio and television programs presenters .

The course trainer was Mr. Imad Asfar , who started training with an introduction about the role and duties of Media, and specifications of good dialogue and successful media , also discussed a number of concepts of information and how it is reflected through dialogue , as well as review of the forms of talk shows .

Training session focused on a range of themes related to the art of dialogue and discussion with the management of the guests, most notably the ability to search for information and guest manner, and the ability to formulate questions and arrange dialogue and follow-up during the dialogue. The session adopted the exercises and practical applications , which included the design of television talk shows under the technical supervision of the MDC tech.supervisor Mr.Haneen Rishmawi, and radio talk shows, under the supervision of sound engineer at the MDC Mr. Muhannad Ka'adan , where they were to practice methods of direct and improvised provision and how to sit and talk and face the camera and talk to the public through microphones , also identifying the most common mistakes when preparing questions throughout dialogues.

Ms. Nahed Abu Taima - coordinator of gender unit at the center, talked to the trainees about the need to recruit intervention capacities of journalists to ensure the right handling , processing and dissemination of women's issues in gender- appropriate manner , bridging the gap and mixing occurring based on concepts and topics related to women and gender.

The participants attended a public lecture on the sidelines of the training course , entitled "Freedom of expression between theory and practice "

The training session concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
